Welcome back!!

Wow! We cannot believe that it is the end of August already and school will begin very soon! Even though we all had a great summer, we are excited to begin the 2016/17 PCA school year. We cannot wait to see all the students, who all seem to grow taller and taller each summer 🙂 Many new students will be joining PCA this year so we welcome you!

The first day of school this year for Grades 1-12 is Tuesday, September 6th. There will be a Fun Day on Wednesday, September 7th for Grades 1-12 which will start at school in the morning and then we will be going to the Forestry Farm Park for lunch and games. Students can wear casual clothes (they should wear runners as we will be playing games) and lunch will be provided. Please send a booster seat if your child needs one.

Kindergarten students will begin school on Monday, September 12th. Preschool students will begin school Tuesday, September 13th.

Parents, please take a look at the updated Dress Code located in the “News” section on this website as there have been some changes made.

The first parent meeting of 2016/17 will be on Monday, August 29th at 7pm at PCA.

We  do  our best to keep everyone  informed   throughout  the year  but  do not hesitate to call Mrs. Berg at the office  if you have any questions.

Enjoy the last few warm days of summer! We look forward to another amazing year at Prairie Christian Academy.

Well, it’s that time again! School is just around the corner. On Wednesday, September 2nd, we are planning a “Fun Day” for Grades 1-12 at the school in the morning and then we will be heading out to the Forestry Farm at 12pm for lunch and games. Please have your child wear casual clothes and bring a booster seat that day if needed. There is also a parent meeting on Tuesday, August 25th at 7pm.

Out with the old and in with the new!

Proverbs 22:6 – Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.

It was out with the old and in with the new! As parents we knew we wanted and desired more for our children’s education and in their walk with God. We knew we wanted to send them to a school that blended and balanced academics and the worship of God, but we needed God’s guidance and leading. Unsure as to what to do, we decided to pray in agreement and leave it in God’s hands. Shortly after, He led us to Prairie Christian Academy.

This is our 1st year with Prairie Christian Academy and we have noticed the difference it has made with our children so far. With our older children we have noticed:

  • they are more confident and happier
  • their self-esteem and leadership skills have improved
  • they have improved study skills
  • they speak highly of the A.C.E. curriculum

More importantly, they have told us how happy they are when their teachers actually take the time to sit beside and help them when needed.

Our youngest daughter is in the Kindergarten Program at Prairie Christian Academy and we have noticed she has improved as well. We find it remarkable that she understands our “code” because she can read already. When we want to do something without her knowing, we would typically spell out our words. For example, we would spell out  “ Let’s go to Tim’s or Wal-Mart” and now,  because she can understand what we are spelling, she often chimes in with, “I wanna come”.  As parents we cannot say enough good about all the staff, teachers and people that make Prairie Christian Academy  an excellent school.  They are expected to excel in their studies (80% passing rate for each pace before moving on to the next one). Also, there is  zero tolerance for bullying, and much more. Our children feel safe and welcome.

We have not only seen  academic growth, but spiritual growth as well. On Wednesdays, Prairie Christian Academy has chapel where they praise and worship God. We enjoy watching our children prepare for chapel every Wednesday. To our children, it is the most important day of their week! Each Wednesday, when we pick up our youngest daughter from school, she expresses wholeheartedly with joy and excitement, “Mom I was praising God so hard with my singing!”  This sentiment continues with the older ones as well, as they tell us about chapel and how their day went. Every day we hear from one of our children about how much they “love their new school.”

Praise God, and thank-you staff of Prairie Christian Academy for enriching the lives of our children!
